About - Daniel Furon
Michael Childers

“My Work is impressionistic — a fascination with nature’s perpetual activity and structural beauty. I enjoy expressing my appreciation of the workings of the cosmic spirit.” Daniel Furon

Born in Paris, Furon attended the Academy Charpentier and Atelier Met de Penninghen, establishing a photo studio with several other artists in the Paris Pigalle neighborhood in the 1970’s.

He quickly gained recognition as one of France's preeminent commercial photographers, with clients that included Kodak, Charles Jourdan, Wired Magazine, and the European Space Agency. The spirit of Furon's commercial work, with its emphasis on color and motion, is still evident in his artistic quest to bring light and movement to the 'stationary world.'

His expertise in photographic special effects was developed before the widespread use of digital effects tools. His images often blend traditional effects, created by the lens and shutter, with digital effects from the computer.

Daniel distinguishes himself as a photographer by adhering to the principle that "sensuality can be expressed in the photographic medium, regardless of the subject matter." It is the essence of the artist's perception propelled through the photograph that interacts with the viewer.

Daniel Furon's images are featured in the permanent collections of the Bayer Corporation, Aerovance, the Davis Law Firm and Le Groupe EthyPharm.
