Michael Childers is the definitive master of the art of celebrity photography, capturing on film the most important personalities in entertainment, fashion and art for over 35 years.
Invited to work for Sir Laurence Olivier’s National Theater in London, Childers remains the only American photographer ever invited to photograph their productions.
A founding photographer of Andy Warhol’s Interview and After Dark magazines, Childers subsequently photographed hundreds of film posters & album covers and has worked for magazines such as GQ, Life, Look, Paris Match, Elle, London Sunday Times, London Telegraph Magazine, among others.
His work is included in the collections of many museums including the National Portrait Gallery in London, The Lincoln Center Library of Performing Arts and in the private collections of Warren & Annette Beatty, Sir Paul McCartney, David Hockney, Franco Zeferelli, David Geffen and Diane von Furstenburg, among many others.
