Their first marriage was in 1957 when Natalie was only 19 years old. They divorced in 1962 but remarried ten years later in 1972.

Natalie died prematurely at the age of 43 through an accidental drowning in 1981, off the coast of Santa Catalina Island whilst aboard the Wagner's yacht.
